Rpeh[edit]
Rpeh has been an editor for over a year now, and a very active one for the past 3 months. He's shown proficiency with the general wiki functions, and has been very helpful in dealing with spammers and other vandals. Additionally, he's shown responsibility as a Patroller for the last few months, and seems familiar with most of the site policies. Most importantly, though, is that I feel we need another active Administrator, and in particular, one in Europe, who can keep an eye on things when Nephele and I are asleep.
Questions[edit]
Q1: What goals do you hope to accomplish as an administrator?
- The very first thing will be finding an article that tells me what all the new buttons do. The next thing will be to act as the European admin*. As Lurlock mentioned above, having an admin east of The Pond would increase the site's admin coverage and would, for instance, have saved a a lot of trouble today during the spamfest. Beyond that I intend to keep doing what I've been doing; edits, patrolling, answering questions and uploading unfeasibly large numbers of images. --RpehTalk 14:12, 10 September 2007 (EDT)
- * For those who don't know, I live in London, England
Q2: What do you foresee as being challenges or issues that UESP may face in the near future? Are there are any changes that you think need to be implemented?
- In contrast to recent RfAs, I think the biggest problem henceforth is going to be declining interest. There's probably one more official mod to come, maybe one more Shivering Isles-style expansion, and after that it's likely that there will be nothing until 2009 at the earliest! This may be a touch pessimistic but I think the biggest challenge will be keeping the site active with the enthusiastic community we currently have. On the plus side, this may be an opportunity to look at making large-scale improvements in the site; enhancing the navigation and adopting a more consistent look, perhaps through increased use of templates. I've said before that I don't want the site to turn into Wikipedia, but that doesn't mean we can't learn from its advances. --RpehTalk 14:12, 10 September 2007 (EDT)
Votes and Comments[edit]
Vote Support, Oppose, or Neutral; comments are also welcome.
- Support (as nominator) --TheRealLurlock Talk 13:11, 10 September 2007 (EDT)
- Support: Beleive it or not, I thought he was already one. Good Luck, and Best wishes! --Playjex 14:12, 10 September 2007 (EDT)
- Support: I can't support this strongly enough! Rpeh is knowledgeable, skilled, level-headed, supportive of other editors, and above all, ridiculously dedicated. He would be an invaluable addition to the administrative team on the wiki, particularly because he would be able to keep watch on things while the other admins are away. Congratulations in advance, Rpeh! --Eshe 14:43, 10 September 2007 (EDT)
- Support: I think Rpeh should become an Admin, after all he has dedicated so much to the wiki- he is knowledgeable and great at editing.--Willyhead 17:09, 10 September 2007 (EDT)
- Support: Anyone who's been watching the Recent Changes page will know that Rpeh has pretty much been doing the job of an Admin already, except that he can't show people the door. This should rectify that. --Saruuk 20:04, 10 September 2007 (EDT)
- Support: I'm with Playjex and Eshe--he's all but an admin already, and there's nothing at all to say to oppose him. Robius, you rock! Somercy 10:20, 11 September 2007 (EDT)
- Support --NepheleTalk 20:50, 11 September 2007 (EDT)
- Support: The semi-active admin, late to the ball again... After earlier unpleasantness with a previous admin I tend to be a little cautious about voting new folks in, but (after checking posts) this is a no brainer. Excellent work across the board. Good points in his answer to Q2 above too. --Wrye 23:17, 11 September 2007 (EDT)
- Support: My own declining activity has made the need for another administrator very relevant, and I think that Rpeh will be a good one. -Ratwar 17:52, 13 September 2007 (EDT)
- Support: In addition to being very knowledgeable and a great contributor, he seems to be a very level-headed person, which I think is very important for an administrator. --Mankar Camoran 09:09, 1 October 2007 (EDT)
Notes[edit]
This nomination was originally posted in User:Rpeh/RfA and transcluded here. I've moved it here since policy discussions should not be transcluded. Reasons: 1) the policy topics are watched more by admins and other users (even semi-retired ones like me), so it helps for us to see the debate unfold on our watch pages. Transclusion only shows up once, while ongoing debate shows up repeatedly -- which is a useful flag of important discussion. 2) The user space is generally considered to be "owned" by the user. (Which means incidentally, that previous requests probably should have been archived under the wiki namespace, not under the users namespace.) Back to matter at hand, since I'm not as active, I'll have to go back and review before voting. --Wrye 15:12, 10 September 2007 (EDT)
- Okay, sorry. I was just going by the previous Admin nominations linked at the top of this page. This is the first time I've done this - the last new Admin was me, so I wasn't aware of the protocol. I guess the nominations get moved to a sub-page only after the nomination process is completed? Anyhow, thanks for straightening it out. --TheRealLurlock Talk 16:11, 10 September 2007 (EDT)

- No problem. Yep, they're moved afterwards. Only time that active discussions are moved off policy pages (community forum, admin board, etc.) is if they get so large that hinder reading/writing other topics on the page. --Wrye 22:53, 10 September 2007 (EDT)
