ESO Plus is a premium membership system that started with the release of the Tamriel Unlimited payment model, for the same price as the old subscription: $14.99/€12.99/£8.99/¥1,944 per month.

The following are included in an ESO Plus membership:

Anyone who had a current subscription to ESO at the time of Tamriel Unlimited's release received an ESO Plus membership for the remainder of their subscription (even if you chose to not renew the membership after the subscription's time ran out).

If you have played DLC and choose to cancel your membership, you will no longer be able to access those areas unless you renew it or purchase the DLC separately, but you will still keep any items and achievements you earned. All DLC skills that you have unlocked (such as Thieves Guild, Dark Brotherhood, Psijic Order, etc.) will remain accessible, but you will be unable to progress the skill trees further. Wayshrines in DLC zones will deactivate and turn gray. However, you can still visit and decorate any Player Housing that you have purchased in DLC zones. If your character is located in a DLC zone when your ESO Plus subscription lapses, your character will, upon logging in, transport to a city within their Alliance district. Any costume you have dyed will remain dyed.

ESO Plus subscriptions will not allow you to retroactively earn the Loyalty Program subscription rewards, as they were discontinued following the release of Tamriel Unlimited. However, DLC Loyalty Rewards can be obtained through ESO Plus.

Players with the Japanese version of the game must purchase ESO Plus through DMM rather than ZeniMax.

Patch Notes[edit]

  • ESO Plus members will now receive access to an extended inventory for crafters (Craft Bags.)
    • The Craft Bag is an additional inventory section which does not count against your inventory limit, is shared across all characters on your account, and can hold an effectively unlimited number of all basic crafting supplies.
    • If your membership expires, you will still have access to the resources stored in your Craft Bags, but you will be unable to add any new materials to it.
    • Loot that goes to your Craft Bag has a special call out in the Loot History.
    • Crafting Materials from your inventory and account bank will automatically go to your Craft Bag upon the first login of each of your characters.
    • Items can be manually retrieved from the Craft Bag in maximum stacks of 200. Retrieved items can also be manually stowed back into the Craft Bags.
    • When accessing your Craft Bag, everyone around you will see you rummaging through an ornate bag that is different than the default backpack.
    • Please Note: When you have a very large number of items in the Craft Bag, the UI will abbreviate the item count (ex. 1.1k Simple Bait). Selecting a specific item will show you the exact number in the tooltip.
  • ESO Plus members can now dye their costumes (and hats!) via a new tab at any Dye Station using any dyes they've unlocked via achievements.
    • This works the same as armor dyeing.
    • The applied dye pattern is unique on a per-character basis, allowing you to use the same unlocked collectible costumes and hats on multiple characters with independent dye color customization.
  • Homes have limits on the number of items, collectibles, and visitors that may be present, with larger homes having higher caps.
    • The number of objects you can place in your home is doubled for those with an active ESO Plus membership.
    • In the event your ESO Plus membership lapses, you won't be able to add any additional items to your home until you drop below the regular item cap. You will be able to remove items in order to do so.
  • ESO Plus members will now automatically receive twice the banking inventory slots. This includes both the base banking capacity as well as all bank slot upgrades purchased from Bankers or the Crown Store. That means 20 additional slots per upgrade instead of 10!
  • If your subscription lapses, your bank capacity will return to the standard limit. If this puts you over the limit, you will still be able to withdraw items, but will not be able to add items until you are no longer above the limit (similar to the way the Craft Bag currently works).
  • A new way of altering your equipment is available in this update. Transmutation allows you to permanently change the trait of an item to one of your choosing! The requirements to utilize Transmutation is as follows:
    • Transmutation can only be done at a Transmute Station, which is a new service station found in the Brass Fortress.
      • Home furnishing versions of these stations may also be purchased for Writ Vouchers from Rolis Hlaalu the Master Writ Merchant.
    • Transmutation requires Transmute Crystals, precious resources occasionally received for successfully completing Veteran PvE activities such as Pledges, Trials, and Arenas, and several PvP sources such as Rewards for the Worthy, Battleground end of match rewards, and AvA end of campaign rewards. Transmute Crystals are an account wide, capped currency which cannot be banked or traded.
    • Transmutation requires having previously researched the desired trait.
    • Jewelry cannot be transmuted.
    • (Undocumented) Transmutation Crystal cap is doubled for ESO Plus subscribers.

Free Trials[edit]

Free trials occur around three times a year and last for around a week. They can be activated by claiming them from the ESO Plus tab of the Crown Store and selecting "Free Trial!" during the trial period and grant access to almost everything a paid subscription would.

The monthly crown stipend, ESO Plus exclusive deals on free Crown Store items and discounts, and access to the Blackwood zone's Companions are available to paid members only.

Once the trial ends the benefits are lost. However, items deposited in the bank will remain (albeit past the limit), craft bag items can be retrieved (but not deposited back in), dyes on costumes remain (but cannot be altered, only removed), progress in DLC zones remain, and collectibles are kept.
